My Support Space is a free online resource containing interactive guides aimed at helping you to manage the impact crime has had on you. It’s easy to set up an account and get access to over 70 guides. My Support Space allows you to work through the guides at your own pace.

SilverCloud is a safe and secure, online CBT-based support package. It can be used independently or alongside our support for recovery from stress or anxiety.

How we can help

We give free, confidential help to people who have been affected by crime in Sussex. We’re an independent charity and you can contact us for support regardless of whether you’ve contacted the police, and no matter how long ago the crime took place. You can also contact us for support regardless of your immigration status in England and Wales.

If you call your local Victim Support team, we’ll provide support that’s personalised to you. We’ll listen with compassion and help you find ways to manage and feel safer. We can also inform you of your rights and the services that you may be entitled to. If you’d like us to, we can refer you to other specialist organisations that can also help.

As well as offering support to people affected by crime, we run a number of specialist services in Sussex. This is with the support of the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, East and West Sussex County Councils, and Brighton & Hove City Council.

Sussex Fraud Support Service

Our two specialist fraud caseworkers offer tailored support to vulnerable victims of fraud throughout Sussex. We work closely with Sussex Police, their Operation Signature campaign and other partners. The aim is to disrupt the actions of fraudsters and reduce the risk of re-victimisation. The service includes a peer support group for those who have been the victims of romance fraud.

Sussex Hate Incident Support Service (HISS)

The HISS provides support to victims of hate crime and hate incidents in Sussex, whether or not they’ve been reported to the police. They undertake extensive community and school-based awareness and prevention work.

Sussex CYP Service (including the Sussex Young Witness Service)

We have specially trained IVAs and Volunteers who offer a service to children and young people and their parent/carers. We also have a Young Witness Service that offers vital support to CYP victims and witnesses under 18 who have to attend Crown Court to give evidence in a trial.

Brighton & Hove Domestic Abuse Service

A specialist support service for victims and survivors of domestic abuse in the city. We provide independent information, advice, support and advocacy, including:

  • 1-2-1 casework support from trained Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs)
  • a hospital IDVA based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital
  • a Health IDVA based in Brighton Hospitals and also supports GPs across Brighton
  • specialist CYP and Black and Minority Ethnic Communities (BMEC) IDVAs who support victim of these communities and undertake community engagement

The service also offers training to statutory and community services on how to ask potential victims about harmful practices, and encourage those at risk to seek help.
